Traffic lights


 
You must obey traffic light signals when driving in Britain. Here's what traffic light signals mean:
Red light: Stop.
Red and amber: Stop. Do not pass through until green light shows.
Amber (orange): Stop at the stop line. You can go on only if you've passed the amber light.
Green: Go, if the way is clear. Be careful if you intend to turn left or right and give way to

pedestrians who are crossing.
Green arrow: Go, if the way is clear, but only in the direction shown by the arrow. You may

proceed in the direction of the green arrow even if the light for other directions is red.
Seatbelts & child safety seats

The law requires that passengers must wear a seatbelt if the car is fitted with them. The driver can be prosecuted if a child under 14 doesn't wear a seatbelt

or child restraint Children up to 135cms

in height must use a seatbelt or fitted

car seat when traveling in any car.
